Back in the saddle

Hi all-
After an adventurous 2 weeks travelling the north/west africa region,
I'm back in Sanniquellie and hard at work. Expect some postings
shortly with a few stories and such of the experience.
Thanks to everyone who wished me a happy birthday, it was nice to be thought of!

A quick quiz...

Which of the following did Taj do to celebrate his 29th birthday?

a) Wake up on a camel blanket under the stars in the Western Sahara
b) Ride in the back of a pickup for 3 hours through a blasted, barren
plateau wearing a Boubou and Tierag due to the 43C blowing wind and
sand
c) Wade unsuccesfully through bustling Nouakchott markets in search of
a not-to-be-found t-shirt featuring their flag
d) Get into a heated argument with a hotel proprieter in which neither
party spoke the other's language
e) Wander through 100m sand dunes perched atop a friendly (if smelly)
and surprisingly comfortable camel
f) Have a spot of Mauritanian tea with an amiable local
g) All of the above.

Cheers, everyone...

Question...

Whats more fun than riding in the back of an open landcruiser at 3AM
with 25 other
people and their entire family's luggage for five hours through the
western Sahara with a screaming sick infant

Answer: nothing. How could you possibly beat that experience...

...and we're off

I leave tomorrow for Monrovia, and will fly from Monrovia to Dakar on
Sunday. I'm headed off for holiday!
At this point you've probably all given up on me anyway, what with my
lackluster posting and all, but I thought I'd just let you know I'm
still alive and you for sure won't hear from me for two weeks minimum.
Life is good, the work is hard and rewarding, and I'm ready for my holiday...
The next time you'll get anything from me is after I return from Mauritania.
My best,
taj
